I want to welcome you to ONU! College can be a great time of life, but can also bring with it a lot of new challenges. I hope and pray that you allow Jesus and your Catholic faith to stay active and alive in your life as a college student. This can be a time of opportunity to grow more deeply in your faith as, perhaps for the first time, you take on greater personal responsibility for that faith. We exist to let the Lord Jesus be the center of our lives as college students and to support each other as Catholic young adults in prayer and fellowship. Get involved with our Catholic student group called “Newman Club” – it’s the best way to deepen your call to holiness as a college student and to prepare for your ULTIMATE future: eternal life!Join us each Wednesday @ 7pm for a Rosary Walk!
What is Newman Club?
The Newman Club is a student-run organization designed to promote Catholic ideals. It extends to the University community through religious, educational, service and social activities, helping students to understand the reality of their faith in modern society. The Club is strongly associated with Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
What would I do as a member?
As a member of the Newman Club, you would be given the opportunity to explore your faith in a new and exciting way! Our RELIGIOUS commitments include arranging carpools to Our Lady of Lourdes, serving as lay ministers in the parish, and teaching the community and each other more about Catholicism. EDUCATIONAL opportunities include hosting and attending retreats. Outreach SERVICE programs include supporting several clothing and food drives and helping anyone who may ask us for assistance. Lastly, SOCIAL activities include dinners with the Club, social events, and various activities at monthly meetings!
