The Catechism of the Catholic Church decribes the Eucharist as the "Source and Summit of ouf faith." Extraordinary ministers are parishioners who receive delegation and training to assist assist the Ordinary ministers (clergy) in the distribution of Holy Communion during Masses when necessary. To be considered for this ministry, parishioners must be at least 16 years old, have received the Sacrament of Confirmation, be in good standing with the Church and actively practicing their faith.
